"Watercolors have been have been
a recent addition to my painting vocabulary. The loose and fresh qualities of
watercolors has always appealed to me. On one of my painting trips, to Monhegan
Island off the coast of Maine, I decided to take watercolors instead of oil for the
convenience of not having to wait for the oils to dry in order to pack them. That
was the beginning of a new venture which is as thrilling as painting in oils. Lately,
I have taken on the challenge of painting portraits in watercolors."
